My nearest NWS weather radio station is about 25 miles away at Iowa
Falls. Long about sunup on my scanner in the bedroom with a quarter wave
antenna that signal suffered from distant QRM. Now checking with a
TM-271 in my hamshack on a small interior antenna it has the same
problem. Checking with my FT-857D on a tall gain antenna above the roof,
its copying the local station fine and not noticing any QRM on that
frequency, but on weather channels that are distance it is showing QRM.
Definitely some extended tropo today.
