Official SD radio tower information puts the location at 43.077114
98.484195 which is 43-4.62686 98-29.0579

According to Delorme Topo 4.0 the tower base is at an elevation of 1835
feet. The terrain dorps off fast to the north , west and west south
west. But southwest there is a 10 foot rise in a few hundred feet.
Beyond that rise there is a fairly fast drop off, in about three miles
the Missouri River is at 1345 feet ASL.

KFC's coordinates are a bit NE of that tower location at about 1845
elevation with a ridge at 1861 elevation to the southwest. That 1861
foot ridge would be the best spot to be for all directions. KVC's
coordinates are about 3500 feet NE of the state's radio tower location.

It would be really handy if someone (Arliss?) scouted the area with
emphasis on paths southwest to west where the eclipsomania rovers plan
to be. Its not clear that there will be many opportunities to work the
non existant crowd on Buck Hill, because if the group on Radar Hill
doesn't move and there aren't other rovers in Minnesota or Iowa there
isn't much reason to be on Buck Hill.

I haven't decided my plans for the contest yet. It would take a Buck
Hill population of at least 5 or 6 stations to make me solo rove in Iowa
using sites I've been too several times. Otherwise if Radar Hill can
work the NE rovers reliably that looks like the best location to be,
better for the rovers if the few from Buck Hill moved to Radar Hill.

Radar Hill is about 260 miles from home at EN32FG, not an easy trip just
for precontest scouting.
