[NLRS] ARRL UHF Contest 2016 cancelled

Could an alternately 'hosted' August 2016 event be the last of the
ROVERMANIAS? I'd love to see someone/group step in and sponsor it for THIS
August AND get enough participation NATIONALLY to finally achieve my long
stated goal of more than 250 log submissions for an August contest. A
significant bit of work would be needed, though, log checking is not pretty.

It might be interesting if folks voted with their feet and opted to NOT
participate in the replacement contest in Spring of 2017.

As well, I am finding it difficult to accept that cancelling THIS year's
August contest is 'revitalization' but at least the committee did
something. AND, if log counts in the upper 100s (as the UHF Contest has
achieved in recent years) are not sufficient to KEEP a contest going - I'd
suggest that the 10 GHz and EME contests might also be candidates for
similar 'revitalization' (both with recent log submission counts in the low
100s).

Finally (and perhaps a slightly 'personal' gripe), it sure would have been
nice if the cancellation of the 2016 August event could have been
decided/confirmed BEFORE I wrote the results article for 2015 that stated
that the 2016 running of the August UHF contest would be on August 6th and
7th. Oh, well.

73, JK
