[NLRS] ARRL UHF Contest 2016 cancelled

At first blush, I am very disappointed.  August can offer some really fun UHF+ propagation that we don't typically see in April.  Also, if there really is an intent to encourage UHF+ contesting by the League they should have offered up an alternative plan before discontinuing the current one.  The news release states that the Contest Revitalization Committee was responding to members requests, but did these members request that the contest be cancelled?    How did we get from looking at different contest formats or different dates to cancelling?   
 
Very disappointed.
