Well, things certainly did not go as I had hoped.

============================
             TOTAL SCORE : 12 956

Due to the stuff I'm working on for Central States I didn't have any
time available to work on equipment. I knew I had several issues with
the microwave stuff, so I didn't even consider trying to put it on the
air other than one quick 1296 Q with W0UC. Plus I knew my operating
time was going to be limited due to family stuff, so I decided I's
concentrate on the lower four bands this June. Not far into the contest
I discovered I had no RX on 222 and very poor RX on 2M. 6M & 432
seemed to be working well. Late afternoon Saturday I decided to climb
the UHF/microwave tower and swap out the 222 preamp. I discovered the
RX relay was not functioning - no power to it. I hooked the 222 RX & TX
relays together and it seemed to working. When I got back to the shack
I I wasn't sure it really solved anything and now 432 had no RX. At
that point I decided to climb the 2M tower and discovered I had a relay
there that was not functioning. After I thought I had it fixed I
discovered the RX on 2M was totally dead as well. Without 2M it pretty
much killed any chance of working any rovers

Guess it is time to overhaul the preamp boxes and all the wiring. Mast
mounted preamps are great when they work, but a royal pain when they
don't. Mine have been up on the tower for over 20 years and things are
starting to act flaky. Hopefully I can get things up and running in
time for September.

Sorry I missed almost everybody locally.

Charlie, N0AKC
