We were caught in the storm Thursday morning at 2am. No real damage other than several 60ft apsen trees down at the top of the driveway. Seven aspen down between our 2 adjacent neighbors and ourselves.
We are so sheltered from the rising terrain to the west and the forest that the anemometer at 57ft on the bigger tower only saw gusts at 33mps literally as trees were crashing all around. I was happy I had two 70fts aspen next the the house and garage cut in June!!
I will wait until cooler weather to try to deal with the downed trees, they didn't reach the driveway. One neighbors drive was blocked with a fallen tree and the other had the triplex, and power meter ripped off his house as one of the 70fters came down across the tripex. All of this within 100ft of my towers.
STILL NO CREWS assigned to our area. In our immediate outage zone almost 700 Coop customers, with NO crews. Honda 1400 generator working hard, sure wish I had bought a bigger one in 1999 when we were without power for 4 days. The lack of well water is a pain. Flushing with lake water.
73 keep cool. Bill K0AWU
