Hello, Bruce!
Jim and I are planning to go out roving as K0MHC/R this weekend, and just
for something different, we are planning to beacon to APRS using a neat
little device called an AP510 APRS Tracker. (It only produces 1 watt of RF,
which we will run through an amplifier to get more oomph.
Jim and I are new to the APRS thing, and I know you have been using this
for a while. I'm curious why your APRS tracker ID is going to be W9FZ-15?
According to the little booklet that came with the AP510, a SSID of 15
indicates an HF station. I was planning to use K0MHC-9 to signify a mobile
station. The list in the booklet does not have a number for a contest rover.
Good luck in the contest. Maybe we'll get some 6 Meter E-skip between here
and there, and we can get each other into our respective logs. I presume
that you and Janice will operate as a family station for twice the fun. We
will represent only a single contact since Jim and I aren't truly family.
;^)

Oklahoma).
