The ARRL's UHF contest originated in 1978. If you have not already, check out N6NB's UHF Contest history page at http://www.augustuhf.org/ (click on the History link at the bottom of that page). I have always really enjoyed operating in the UHF contest, so my purpose for this weekends rove is to say goodbye to an old friend as the League has decided to end the UHF contest with this contest format and to replace it with a distance based scoring method starting next year.
I will have 222 through 10 GHz along for the ride and plan to operate from the St. Charles grid corner on Saturday, and then simply do the EN35/34 grid line on Sunday, sorry no EN25/24 this time. Here are my planned stops:
Saturday: EN44BB, EN43AW, EN33XW, EN34UA
Sunday: EN35JA, EN34JX. I know that WB0LJC and KC0P have plans to be active in this area and off of downtown starting around 11:00 am as well. Who else what's to play? Given that next years contest will be distance based, not Q's, its not as likely that you will be finding this type of concentrated, fun, uW activity like this so think about participating and helping us to send an old friend out in style.
Phone is the same, 952-807-3816 and 222.120 / 432.120.
73, Jon
