[NLRS] Need some info on N connectors

I have some N male crimp connectors with a similar back piece integral
with the connector. The ridges make it too large to properly crimp
with a standard tool but I've been doing it anyway by releasing the
crimp latch on the crimp tool. I don't know why there are ridges or
who made the connectors, but let us know if you find out.
Since your crimp is separate from the body, perhaps you should try
cutting your own crimps from brass hobby tubing? I've considered it
several times for repair of connectors but haven't tried it. I'm
worried if the tubing will crimp or crack, and if it will hold tight
enough. If brass doesn't work, I'd probably try some other tubing
material if I could find something....
