The 222MHz amplifier & transverter pair are spoken for.
Next item is for a 144MHz conduction-cooled tetrode linear amplifier. The
RF deck is modified from a commercial Quintron high-band paging transmitter.
The amp emits around 400 watts with about 3 watts of drive and utilises
G3SEK's top-of-the-line regulated screen supply and control boards.
The screen supply actively monitors both screen and control grid current
and will disable the power immediately it detects any condition that could
cause damage to the valve/tube. DEMI used to sell the board-level kit
without the screen transformer and case althoguh I no longer see them
listed in their catalog.
Full documentation on this part of the system is available at
http://www.ifwtech.co.uk/g3sek/boards/tetrode/tetrode-1.htm
and would be a great enhancement to any other existing amp based on any of
the popular 4CX250/350/400 tetrodes or similar and can be used to control
up to two tubes.
Before upgrading to the 1.5kW 2m amp, this was the mainstay of my
two-metre station and was used to work ~120 grids and 46 states on 2.
I will also include an unfinished 50MHz amp deck I was building which
could use the same power supply.
This amp is installed in a six-foot 19 inch rack cabinet which houses the
RF deck, EHT PSU, and the screen supply. abd leaves about 3 1/2 feet of
usable rack space for your other kit.
Again, pickup in South Minneapolis (BTW - the rack will NOT fit in a
MINI!).
$350
