I plan to put i a pretty serious effort and plan to be calling CQ a lot on 50 and 144. I will do most of my calling somewhere +/- 5 kHz or more away from 144.200 and in the region of 50.150, both depending on who is already on where. I do tend to jump around a lot with with where I CQ. I will only drop to 144.200 if things sound or look dead, and will stay there only long enough to stir things up. I will also be continuously watching 192 kHz chunks of all 4 bands, so if you are calling CQ away from the calling freqs I will find you.
I try to do a full 360 degree antenna sweep more than once an hour - subject to activity and propagation hot spots slowing my antenna sweeps down. So that means i do look and call CQ to my W and NW close to once an hour, if not more. I will also be watching (literally) for rovers on there home freqs. I've had pretty good success finding them these last few contests, but I was not nearly as successful in getting their attention as I'd like to have been.
