Today I'm sending the regional VHF/UHF clubs the same
info I send each week to email lists I've created over time.
Wed. still features the 144.240 long-range net called by
WB9LYH in EN54cl, Central WI. Mark has a big signal
that covers the Midwest and Great Lakes.
Start time tonight is 8pm central. WB9LYH's antenna
pattern is first NE, then E, SE, S, SW, W, NW and N over
the next hour or so. All licensed amateurs are welcome.
The net is informal; the goal is to make 2m SSB more active.
I HAVE ALSO extensively updated KC9BQA.com with
a full listing of known nets and activity nights within range
of WI/IL/MI/MN. Get this info into the hands of Joe Q.
Ham and steer him toward times where there's guaranteed
activity.
Read the text below if you want more detail. Visit
kc9bqa.com a few times a month to stay up to date.
G' afternoon,
Turn on the VHF rig tonight and check 144 MHz.
WB9LYH calls the 144.240 long-range net from EN54cl,
Central WI.
Start time is 8pm central. Help us spread the word and
get more signals on 2 meter SSB.
A FEW ANNOUNCEMENTS
1) The Wed. 144.240 net start time will move up one
hour earlier to 7pm central, *effective Nov. 6th.* Giving
you an early heads-up.
The start time will remain at 8pm central for tonight, and
Oct. 30th. We always change to an earlier start time in the
fall and winter. This only pertains to the 144.240 net from
WI on Wed. nights.
2) I've been making updates to kc9bqa.com. If you
need the latest word on nets and activity all 7 nights of the
week on different bands, visit kc9bqa.com for updates
dated Oct 13th, 15th and 17th. There's a lot more activity
out there than most guys realize, and my goal is to make
sure hams everywhere know about their weak-signal
V/UHF options.
Included in those Oct 13/15/17th posts is info about a
twice-weekly 432 net, and many nets on 50 and 144 MHz.
As well as 222 Tuesday, the national activity night on
the 1.25m band.
You can help weak-signal V/UHF by getting this info
to hams you know.
Thank you, 73,
