Has anyone ever mixed narrow band transverter with a gunnplexer at the 
other end?

I've had an inquiry from Des Moines about 10 G and the ham has already 
invested in gunnplexers.

Seems to me that if I can turn up the deviation on the 857 enough that 
it can be copied with the typical gunnplexer wide IF that it would be 
plenty stable to lock the gunplexer LO/transmitter to. That I could set 
up a second receiver with test equipment of brick on 10.5 GHz, mixer, 
preamp, and R7100 receiver that would be versatile enough and have a 
wide enough receiver to copy the modulated gunn source. Might need a 
receive filter to cut down on the 3 watt PA in the receiver preamp, but 
the combination of that kind of power and 18" dishes and a preamp on 
receive should make the range to the gunnplexer a lot better than 
typical gunnplexer to gunnplexer.
