Hi All
I am in the process of putting a 12 foot fiberglass parabolic reflector
antenna on my patio for EME, radio astronomy and Hearsat. This is the
same dish that came from the Holiday Inn-Arden Hills re-construction
project that Doug (N0NAS) had emailed about last week. This dish was
originally used for C Band TV service for the hotel. A truly nice
professional grade dish.......
One of the key steps is to lift the center dish piece over the patio
wall and put in roughly in place on late Saturday morning
The good news is the dish is 3 pieces and only the center dish strip is
heavy---220 pounds--It is a piece 12 feet long by 8 feet wide-The outer
"wings" detach and they are already removed....
I have 1 helper for this lift already and I am hoping to recruit 2 more
helpers.
The plan would be to leave the Aurora conference late morning, around 11
AM, hop in my car and drive to my house in Maplewood, around 6 miles
from Aurora, and then lift the center dish into place on the concrete
patio. After the lift, I am treating my helpers to lunch at OCB on White
Bear Avenue and we will be back to Aurora well before the 1 PM
meeting. The work is probably a 10 minute job for 4 people.
The only requirement for helpers is that you are comfortable lifting
55-60 pounds (1/4 the dish center piece weight)
Anyone willing to help out late Saturday morning for this quick task ??
