Looking at all the snow and more in the forecast, May 11 may seem a long way off, but not really. May 11 is AU-2013. Full information about Aurora can be found on at http://www.nlrs.org/home/aurora  , or just ask.

I have agreed to once again organize the technical presentations. These
presentations are totally dependent upon YOUR willingness to share with
the group at large, your expertise and experiences at the workbench or
operating position.

Jim K0MHC surveyed the attendees of AU-2012 regarding the technical
program. From that survey, those attending were mostly satisfied with
the program. What did come to the front was that technology and
propagation presentations were desired and we were reminded not to forget presentations
for the VHF spectrum, 2m-1296 for example.

Jon W0ZQ will be doing a presentation at the SVHFS conference in Coco Beach FL about the propagation experienced on 10GHz and 24GHz during the
August Lake Superior weekend. Some fantastic QSOs over water as will as
over land and major obstacles. He and others will do a localized version of that presentation for us. Even if you are not a 10GHz operator, to
see what was accomplished that weekend is a MUST for any ham that is
fascinated by propagation above 50MHz. Not all that long ago, we were
thinking not much beyond "line of sight"! Remember?

Now this is where YOU come in. We need to find out what our members have
been up to all winter. Have you been playing with a SDR dongle, a solid
state QRO amp for 6, 2, 432 or ??? Have you got the ultimate rover
package or microwave portable ready for a "road trip"? How about sharing with us? Not ready to present? Well, do you have an interest that might
be addressed by a presentation? Toss your idea in the ring.

Presentations are usually in the 20-30min range. Jim K0MHC will be our media
specialist again and Power Point presentations are the norm. Stand alone sandwich board displays for the lobby are also of interest, if you  have things of interest to share, but don't wish to do a formal presentation.

It would be wonderful to be able to have a SURPLUS of presentations and
have to come back to the group and vote on what is to be presented!

Light up my "inbox" and lets make AU-2013 the "place to be" on May 11.
