Hi Vince. Sorry to hear of the damage there.
Here on the southeast side of Lake Miltona we had huge, 2-3 hour long,
constant velocity, straight line winds together with thunder and lightning.
Finally around 4 AM things settled down but, without any power. This morning
somehow the tower was still up but the beach took a beating. Out pontoon
blew off the lift and was beached at the neighbors. Our neighbors' pontoon
lift was upside down next to our dock. Our dock was stripped of all top
sections (as well as the neighbor's docks) and the beach was shoved up all
along the lake shore. Fortunately our big trees (the ones that I complain
about) stayed up but there are huge trees blown down up and down the beach.
I put my field day generator to work as we rotated it among three houses to
keep the refrigerators cooled down. We were very lucky in that the power
just came on even though there are trees draped over power lines next door
(must be on a different distribution).
So, we'll need to do some clean up and repair before we consider our VHF
field day station. The weather for Sat. and Sun. also has storms forecasted
again.
Good luck with your insurance settlement!

Tower folded over in this AM's storm, here in Big Lake.
Looks like I will be off the air indefinitely, after assessing the damage.
A lot of work to do in the clean up. Hope all others faired better than we
did.
