I have been checking the rotor on the VHF tower every couple of hours the past couple of days. Today around 2:20pm it finally start moving again. At first it was extremely cold and slow from sitting in the deep freeze. I called one of the kids into the shack and them him spin the rotor for about 5 minutes to try to move around and frozen grease lumps that might be in the bearing races. I went outside and visually confirmed that it is moving and does not appear to have any restrictions.

I will try to check it and move it every couple of hours while I am in the office working the rest of this week (FYI...I am a telecommuter, the office is my shack.) Right now the tower is pointed ESE in the general direction of the metro area. At least this way if it freezes up again I can hand out a few Q's. We are expecting to return to the deep freeze on Sunday; keep your fingers crossed that either the cold or moisture problem is dealt with at least through Sunday evening.

Tentatively NG0R will be on the air this weekend from EN25ue with 50-->1296.
