Jon:

I think that there is an error in the published rules! Wasn't there recent
discussion about power levels on bands above 902 MHz? The printed January
rules say that the SOLP category is defined as:
3.1.2. Low Power (150 W PEP or less

As written, that rule means no more than 150 watts PEP on *ANY* band! Is
that really what was decided? I thought that it was supposed to be 150
watts on 6M & 2M, 100 watts on 222 and 432, and an increase to 50 watts on
902 and up. I see that there is an opening parenthesis but no closing
parenthesis. Perhaps there is missing text describing lower powers on
higher bands that would be followed by a closing parenthesis.

Or maybe I have developed Alzheimer's Disease and I am completely confused
about the decision that was made about raising power levels on higher
bands???

The ARRL has updated the January VHF contest rules to add two new
operating categories. These two new operating categories are the single
operator three band category for stations running low power on 6, 2, and
432 while the second category is the single operator FM only category using
6, 2, 223 and 446. Full rules at http://www.arrl.org/january-vhf and
rationale for the rule changes at
http://www.arrl.org/files/file/About%20ARRL/Committee%20Reports/2012/January/Doc_31.pdf
. These new rules apply to the January, June, and September VHF contests.
