All,
Solar numbers are high and getting even better.
Long distance propagation on 10-meters has been very good the last few
days and is getting even better.
( Maybe will lead to some 6M F skip ???? )
On 10-meters, this could be one of those rare times when you can talk
all over the world on a 17' dipole or 8' 8" vertical antenna. Should be
a great weekend for working DX in the CQWW contest with modest antennas
and low power. Just work some DX stations even if you are not
participating in the contest.
Six meters, there is a possibility for long distance F2 communications!
Suggested operating:
Russia & Mid-East in the morning
Europe and Africa mid morning
South America during mid-day
South Sea Islands & Australia mid/late afternoon
Asia in late afternoon, early evening
73 es good DX

HIGH SOLAR ACTIVITY: New sunspot AR1598 has boosted solar activity to
high levels. This morning, Oct. 23rd, it produced a powerful X1-class
solar flare. There have been four significant flares since the active
region emerged three days ago, and it seems that more could be in the
offing.
