Hello NLRS land -

Rick, K1DS, has an excellent write up on the ARRL June Contest results on the ARRL website at http://www.arrl.org/files/file/ContestResults/2012/2012-JuneVHF-Web-V3.pdf . Check it out.

Congratulations to the NLRS for placing 4th in the Medium Club category out of 34 clubs. This may have been one of our better results in a while. We had 18 NLRS logs from the following stations: W0UC, K0SIX, N0EO, W0GHZ, ND0B, K0AWU, WA0VPJ/R, W0VB, NG0R, K0BBC/R, W0ZQ/R, KC0IYT/R, W0JT, KC0RQH, W6GMT, W0DJM, W0OHU, and N0HZ.

The Upper Midwest was well represented by NLRS along with the Badger Contesters (8th place with 15 logs), MWA (14th place with 14 logs), CVVHFS (16th place with 3 logs), and in the Local Club category by Rochester, MN (3d place out of 13 clubs with 4 logs).

Looking at individual NLRS results, we have a bunch to talk about!

Hats off to Vince, K0SIX for a 2nd place national finish in the SOLP category. Vince was also the winner of the NLRS sponsored Dakota Division SOLP plaque. Vince rode the 6m wave with 1101 6m Q's from 229 grids.

In the highly competitive SOHP category, Paul, W0UC, also rode the 6m wave to a 3rd place national and 1st place Central Division finish. Paul had 1056 6m contacts from 243 grids, and overall had 1190 contacts with 319 grids. Gary, W0GHZ, squeezed into a 10th place finish in this same category.

In the Limited Multiop category the Duluth gang operated using their club call of N0EO for a 7th place nationally and a 1st place Dakota Division finish.

Bruce, W9FZ/R placed 10th in the nation and 1st place in the Central Division in the Rover category. W0ZQ/R managed to somehow place 1st in this category in the Dakota Division. The dynamic duo of John and Mark (AI0Z) piloted the WA0VPJ/R rovermobile to a 4th place national finish in the Limited Rover category. And in the Unlimited Rover category, Mel and Carol, KC0P/R and N0HZO/R, finished 3rd and 4th respectively in the nation. Finally, in the QRP Portable category, we saw David, W0DJM, take 1st place in the Dakota Division.

So a tip of the hat to all 18 NLRS members who sent in a score for the club, thanks. Also a bow to K0SIX, W0UC, W0GHZ, N0EO, W9FZ/R, WA0VPJ/R, KC0P/R, and N0HZO/R for finishing in the top ten nationally in respective categories.

73, Jon
