   Good morning,

As posted at kc9bqa.com, we have the long-range nets
on from the Great Lakes tonight. Started this up in June
2008 and we're grateful for all the check-ins over time .
Also grateful for alternate net controls, which helps keep
things from getting stale and keeps us on the air when
someone needs a week or two off.

Tonight I pinch hit for WB9LYH. I call the 144.240 net
at 0100Z from EN63ao, or 40 miles N of Milwaukee.
K8GDT in EN91bf (just south of Cleveland) is also pinch
hitting for K8TQK. Gerry will call the 144.250 net starting
at 0130Z.
Both nets start out looking north, then swing slowly
clockwise, calling CQ frequently, over the next 60-90 mins.

The purpose of these nets is to promote overall activity
on 2m SSB. All are welcome to listen along or check in.

We're far from the only game in town. Wednesday is
probably the single busiest night on 2m SSB across much
of the eastern half of USA and southern Canada.
A detailed listing of nets/activity on various V/UHF bands
is at this link: http://kc9bqa.com/?p=5017 Primary focus
is on nets from the Great Lakes and Midwest. There's far
more activity on the bands than I would have ever known,
when I got started 8-9 years ago.

Help get this info to hams who may be curious about the
weak-signal side of V/UHF. Knowing where and when to
actually hear signals coming out of your rig helps attract the
newcomers and maintains everyone's interest.

    73,
