Hello NLRS land -

The 2012 ARRL 10 GHz & Up Contest results are posted on the ARRL website at http://www.arrl.org/contest-results-articles . A tip of the hat to Bruce, W9FZ, for a fine article. Being a contest author is a significant commitment of one's own time, but its a significant way of giving back to our hobby that we all love and enjoy. If you have not considered this before, think about volunteering yourself, and/or find another way to give back.

The results. In the 10 GHz Only category NLRS members took six of the ten top spots nationally: WB0LJC (1), N0UK (2), K0HAC (3), N0AKC (5), K0CQ (8), and WA2VOI (9). A nice job by Gary, Chris, Holly, Charlie, Jerry, and Donn.

In the 10 GHz & Up category NLRS members had just one spot in the top ten with W0ZQ (1). Pete, K9PW, who traveled with us along the northshore, finished 4th in this category.

The Extended Article that is on-line has a great write-up of the contest both nationally as well as with a side-bar article on the Lake Superior operation. I see JPGs of VE4MA, VE3KRP, K0CQ, W9FZ, K0MHC, K0AWU, N9CHA, VE3ADQ, W0JT, the NS Rover Pack, KB0OZN, N0AKC, W0ZQ, and KC0IYT .... we are all now famous! There are other JPGs including some of the 8-landers who joined us as well as JPGs from across the nation. I like the JPG showing Barry working across the lake holding the 17 dB horn & running 12mW. Too bad we didn't get any pictures of the rain storm on Saturday ! I think we were too busy defending ourselves.

Nice article Bruce, thanks for the write-up.

73, Jon
W0ZQ
