I had a great time and thought activity levels were downright good. I
think "promotion" in the area helped a bunch! Thanks Todd :-) .

It was a lovely, warm evening. Wind was out of the south bringing in moist
air. I hoped for some good stratification after dark. I was near Mineral
Point, WI for the first spot (EN42 Lafayette County) and New Glarus, WI
(EN52 Green County) for the 2nd. I used a historical marker pull-off
along Hwy 23 south of Mineral Point for the first spot and I'd recommend
it to anyone activating Lafayette County.

I got there with about a minute to spare and set-up my 6m dipole. I ended
up ONLY making 2m contacts. I had two schedules with KB0HH--one in each
grid. We banged away at each other for about 8 minutes each time
unsuccessfully. But I'm glad we tried. I heard some pings.

I did most of my work up on 144.240. I REALLY appreciate all the guys who
found me there. It saved me from having to wade into .200 +/- 5 kcs. For
you fixed stations, how did .240 work for you? What do you think if I
didn't do that and waded down into .200 +/- 5kcs to CQ my lungs out?
Would it make for a more unpleasant neighborhood (like I predict)? I
think I'd have made more Q's if I did--because there are plenty of folks
who don't go further away from .200 than 5kcs and I might have had a
chance at working them. But I personally think that my being off of .200
is a "better neighbor" way to go.

Pretty nice Grid coverage: WB0YWW in EN22, K0SIX&K0KFC EN35, N0EDV EN45,
K9MU EN44, N8LIQ EN56, KF8QL EN72, N0JA EM49, K2DRH EN41 several each in
EN43, 53, 51,52, 61. Where was EN34 and EN64???? Glad to work KE6CBR/R
five times and K9JK/R twice.

Due to a bridge being out, my drive between the two grids took twice as
long (time and distance) as planned to reposition. When I got on the air
in EN52 with 45 minutes to go in the sprint, that is when I had that nice
pileup! Thanks guys--that was fun! Turns out it was 20 Q's in 13 minutes.
Interestingly, I didn't work anything in the sprint after 0348z.

Band QSOs	Value	QSOPtsMults Total
144 (EN42)	36	1	36	18 648
144 (EN52)	26	1	26	12 312

Claimed Score: 960

That was a nice evening of radio.
