[NLRS] Your 2m Presence is Requested Tonight

    Hello NLRS and CVVHF'ers,

I realize I'm talking to a 80-90% contesting audience here.
I accept this and I get it because I still love contests first and
foremost. I'll also gently remind each of you that we've gotten
a lot of new V/UHF contesters the past few years, due in part
to the hours I spend each week promoting more activity on the
bands. It's hard to keep those new guys interested, unless they
hear some activity during non-contest times.

Our net numbers have been down versus this time last year,
even with the same weekly email promotion that I do in at least
15-20 different directions.

**So tonight I'm asking you to get on the air and help us.**

Even if a net doesn't interest you, know that we have plenty
of guys who do their own CQ'ing after net control passes them
by. Those guys want to hear more activity and here's some great
news -- THE 2 METER BAND HAS PLENTY OF ROOM
FOR YOU.

Starting at 7pm central for the winter, say hello to net control
KA0KYZ in EN33, on 144.230. Or WB9LYH in EN54,
on 144.240. Or go on 144.220 and lower, and call your own
CQ's, to stir up your own activity, just like you would in a contest.

Start using the on4kst.com real-time chat on Wed. nights.
Our net controls update where they are pointing and who they are
hearing via that chat. Really helps with overall coordination. The
chat is free, and available for all USA/VE ops. You want the IARU
Region 2 Chat for 144/432 MHz.   Stop by and at least observe;
we don't bite. :) Since the chat is for everyone, use it to make
your own contacts with various stations.

Everyone complains about the low activity levels on V/UHF
bands. Who will get on the air and do something to help??

     73,
