Will warmer weather mean the start of DX-type surprises?
WB9LYH EN54 and myself certainly hope so. We've been
keeping things warm all winter, with 30-40 guys coming on
from multiple grids and states, playing 144 SSB weekly.

    I know I'm talking to a contesting audience here. I'm a
contester, first and foremost. I see that contesters aren't that
excited by scheduled weekly activity. :) Easily 70% of the
NLRS, SMC and BC guys won't say hello more than once or
twice a year. If the nets depended on most of you, we'd be
off the air. But I get the contester mindset and here's what I
want you to consider instead:

Get just 10 or 20% more involved. Resolve to improve just
a little bit in 2010. Talking about getting on the air. It would
make a WORLD of difference. Over time with these nets,
I've learned there are more V/U hams than I would have ever
guessed. I don't think it's so much the raw numbers that are
lacking, but the overall activity.
As contesters, we all want more activity. If you will do just
a bit more in your specific area to get signals on the air, it will
end up having a ripple effect.
If you don't care to say hello to the net, you are still more
than welcome to get on Wed. nights, or any night, and make
some noise. There are new guys getting on who would like
to have a Q with you.

To the regulars, thanks for being there. Thanks for helping
us have fun in the www.on4kst.com chat.
