WAWICO VHF/UHF stands for
Working All Wisconsin Counties on VHF/UHF.

I've wanted to do this for some months now, and I'm moving
forward with it. I'm letting neighboring states know about it
today, in advance of the WI QSO Party on March 14th,
http://www.warac.org/wqp/wqp.htm and especially in advance
of the Spring VHF/UHF Sprints that start up on April 12th.

Only bands 50 MHz and above are eligible. All modes are
eligible, but no repeater contacts. All hams, both in and outside
of WI are eligible to compete for the Award.
The Award period started on Jan 1, 2010 and will continue
for at least several years. This program is a long-term effort,
not a sprint. Certificates will be awarded at the 20 county
level and endorsements available as you attain 30, 40, 50, 60
counties. If you work all 72 WI Counties on VHF/UHF, you
will get a nice plaque.
Rovers or hilltoppers will be encouraged (and rewarded)
for activating WI counties. They will be essential to making
all 72 counties workable.
Many details to be nailed down, but a solid framework is
up at kc9bqa.com. To save space here, visit the website if
you are interested. Comments or questions will be welcome
after you review the March 6th post at kc9bqa.com
The main goal of WAWICO VHF/UHF is to greatly
increase activity levels on "our" bands in and near Wisconsin.
Plenty of publicity will make that a reality. Talk this program
up, it is already underway. Any contacts you make after
Jan 1, 2010 go toward your WI county total.
73,
