All,

I just received a new Down East Microwave 222 transverter, and am
awaiting delivery of 144 and 432 transverters. So I'm in the process
of getting things set up in prep for the UHF contest in August and
VHF-UHF in September. Antennas, hard-lines, etc.

I contacted many NLRS stations in the ARRL-June and CQWW-July contests
on 6M and look forward to running more bands and being active from 50MHz
to at least 1296MHz.

So keep those activity nets going, I'll be joining in soon from the
northern edge of EN52.

Also, I think the activity nets will see more check-ins in a month or so
when it starts getting dark earlier in the evenings and the list of
"Honey Do's" is taken care of.

Hi all,
I have been running the two meter net for several years now.

I have noticed in the past cupple of years that i really don't have very
meny check - in's from the nlrs groop.
I get more check ins from Ia. and the Kansas city aira then i get from
the twin cities.
Could it be that the nlrs groop no longer cares about having activity on
the vv h f bands?
I realise that it is not allways posible to check in to every net.
I know i can't usually check in to the 222 net because of local nets in
my aira.
But that sed i think the Nlrs could do a better job of supporting
activity on the bands out side of contest's and also do better at
supporting it's nets.

Also today i was looking at the nlrs web site and notice that Lenny
k0shf is still listed as 432 net conntrol.
Lenny hasn't ran the 432 net in several years.
Also the 6 meter net listing does not even list a net control.
Now i know from being around that when Bob w0aus was no longer able to
run it and past away Vince k0six has been running the net very
reliably.
Why is he not listed as it's regular net control?
I am not planning on dropping the two meter net but would like to hear
some coments on this subject.

Also the nlrs needs to do a better job at supporting the 222 activity
night.
even though it is not an nlrs activity i think we should be helping out.

For the past two weeks i have got on 222.1 between 8 pm and 10 pm anc
called around in all derections and got absolutly no one.
I can tell you that if we arn't going to use these frequencies on a more
regular bases then we may as well let the bands go to other interest.
I don't think this is what we want.
Now lets get on the stick boys and get things going.
I can remember several years a go we had alot of activity on the bands
and did a great job at pramoting vhf uhf activity.
Your gear isn't doing you a bit of good sitting around doing nothing.
Now lets get on the air.
Thanks 73 Matt ka0pqw
