OK, gang. There was (more than) enough interest to go ahead and hold the July
10GHz "tune up."
I checked with the St. Paul Park board and we're good to go on Saturday, July
17th, starting 0900 in Mounds Park. We didn't need a permit and there's nothing
go on that day (like a bike race, or such) that will put a lot of traffic onto
Mounds Blvd. The only thing that may cause a problem is RAIN.
We'll meet on the flat land along Mounds Blvd west of the Aero Beacon at 0900
for an antenna range and feed horn testing/tuning. (This area is opposite Urban
Pl. along Mounds Blvd. If you exit I-94 onto Mounds Blvd and then go toward teh
Aero Beacon, you can't miss it. Now, I-94 may be limited due to construction,
but if you come south on I-35E and then east on I-94 you'll be OK. Likewise,
west-bound on I-94 from Wisconsin, you'll be OK. From the south, come north on
US52 (across the Laffeytte Bridge) to MN5 - East 7th Street - and turn right -
East - and go 1/2 mile to US 61. Turn right -south- onto Mounds Blvd and keep
going. Be carful NOT to take the turn onto I-94 Eastbound !)
About noon or so, we'll adjourn to the area under the Aero Beacon and have a
picnic lunch; you're on your own there, although someone will bring a grill to
cook dogs, I hope. After lunch we can try equipment: short path over to the
Capitol Overlook, medium path down the valley to Idel Ave, and the longer path
to Cannon Falls.
I'll have equipment for 10GHz and LIMITED equipment for 24GHz (antenna gain
measurement only, I'm afraid). We may also have a 24GHz WBFM Boomerange (for 30
MHz).
Did I miss anything ?
