Hello all,

Signal reports from W9HQ/B have been very encouraging. If you want to see
how it's getting out, please check out the map here:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=113437664723040818543.00048cff460995029c5d5

Please QSL and I'll add you to the map.

The only problem with the beacon is that it causes significant QRM from up
on the roof. I need to move this thing up on the silo. KF9OP and K0CQ have
given excellent help, but I have not been able to get a decent CW signal out
of the Alinco 2m FM rig I had slated for that. So I'm putting out the call
to see if anybody has an eligible 2 meter transmitter that could be utilized
as a beacon. I'm thinking along the lines of a 2 meter all-mode with messed
up receive, a crystal unit that's already been modded to do CW, perhaps a
small crystal oscillator that could be keyed. Unfortunately, I'm out of
hacking time--I travel to China in about three weeks--so whatever it is has
to be more or less plug-and-play. But if you have something lying about
that you'd be willing to sell, please drop me a line off-list and let's talk
about it.

Thanks and 73,

David W9HQ
