Jason, Bloomington is not bad for airport noise - I live in east Bloomington. South Mpls and Eagan, Mendota Heights have much much more noise due to being off the ends of the two parallel runways. Check out the airport noise maps found at http://www.macnoise.com/maps. I would base a rent location more on traffic and driveability to any work place job - some of the freeways are unbelievably packed at rush hour, such as the west side of 494. Before you sign on the dotted line, try driving your work job route at rush hour to see what your getting into.
