Similar to Todd's (KC9BQA's) results...this was a best ever 144
MHz Sprint for me (Spring OR Fall).
99 total QSOs, 49 Different Callsigns in my log, 19 total
different Grid Squares contacted.
Even withOUT the max. of 16 Rover-to-Rover QSOs between K9GY/R
and myself (and we did HALF of the 16 possible withOUT formally
doing "the grid square dance" that Eric and I filled in at the
end when activity subsided), it is 83 QSOs with 48 different
callsigns.
K2DRH in EN41 was my farthest west (around 120 miles)...I
*thought* I heard KA9FOX (or someone working him) but never
linked up. To the north, it was N8LIQ (from TWO of my stops
actually) and N8PUM in EN56 and EN66, respectively and BOTH in
the 300 mile range. To the south, my best was N9GJC in EM68 (240
miles). To the east, KC8QAE was 320 miles and I worked a NUMBER
of EN82 stations (250 miles +/-). Not bad from the rover-mobile.
QSO Detail:
Grid Qs Ms Grid Score
EN51 22 10 220
EN52 23 13 299
EN61 15 10 150
EN62 39 16 624
Total Score by SVHFS Fall Sprint Rover Scoring Method: 1293
By Spring Sprint Rover Scoring Method: 4851
By ARRL Rover Scoring Method: 2277
Did anyone notice the announcement for the "long tropo path"
contact achieved between WZ1V (FN31) and N2CEI (EM80) during
Monday's event? 965 Miles! And several east coast stations
announcing more than 100 QSOs made during the four hours.
THANKS to ALL who were on everywhere, especially those that
responded to my CQs or otherwise found me and thanks to the
Southeastern VHF Society for their continued sponsorship of
these Fall activity attractors.
Hoping for similar "enhancement" (both tropospheric AND the
number of other stations!) to be present for next week's 222 MHz
Fall Sprint.
73, JK
