I'm confident I've never worked so many Q's in a sprint.
The local and semi-local activity was super strong again, just
like it was 2 weekends ago in the ARRL contest. WI is doing
great, and ILL has *really* activated a bunch of guys this year.
Signals were up nicely, too. Lots of guys were S5, S9 or
more. I noticed this far more on the north/south paths. The
few I worked to the east or west were average to slightly
enhanced.
K0KFC was nice and strong at the start of the sprint and
heard me off the side. Jim turned out to be my only EN34/35
of the night. Sounded like the guys to the NW pulled the plug
early. I called that way a bunch after 10pm, and ended up
getting KA0PQW. K9MU told me there were many of you
on, so I guess I was too late for the party. It was also very
quiet to the east between 9:30-10pm (10:30-11pm their time)
so I would have been better off looking SW/W/NW earlier.
Best DX east was EN82 (N8WNA) and EN91 (super-light
KC8QAE)
Best south was EN50 with W9SZ/P. Zach couldn't get on
until about 9:30pm.
Best west was EN22 with WB0YWW and EN33 with
KA0PQW, who got on after 9pm. 'YWW just west of
Ft. Dodge hears very well. I can always hear WB0YWW if
he's on for my Wed. net where I only look SW, W, NW and N.
Best DX to the north was N8LIQ in EN56 and N8PUM in
EN66. They were well above average tonight. I had a ball
hearing K9JK/R work them back-to-back from Chicago.
Good job, everyone.
