Lots of reasons to play radio this week.
I list them all on my website. Highlights are:
We're promoting 223.5 MHz simplex FM activity during 222
Tuesdays. I hope those who don't have 222 SSB gear get on
this great band, with your FM gear. The FM call freq. is 223.5.
Spread out a little bit if it gets busy.
222 Tuesdays are every Tuesday, across a wide area of the
USA. I've had a number of V/UHF'ers email me and ask, "Hey,
what about FM activity on 222?" I say, "Sure, go for it" So
talk up 222 Tuesdays, starting tomorrow night. There's no net
control or single focus. Get on the air, call CQ and see who's
out there. There should be several of us monitoring both
222.100 SSB and 223.500 FM in/near SE WI. Suggested
times are from about 7pm-10pm. Tell your radio buddies.
Make time Saturday night for the 6 meter Fall Sprint.
It's from 6-10pm, and there should be lots of activity since
50 MHz is such a popular band. I know I'll be on for this one.
http://www.svhfs.org/fall_sprint_rules_2009.pdf is your link
for more info.
Consider using a real-time V/UHF chat page for all these
activities. I have used the www.on4kst.com chat for some
years now on 6 meters, and it's a blast to see hundreds of
callsigns on the roster, the minute you log into the page.
We're now using this chat for other bands. The chat is free,
absolutely no-strings-attached. 7 simple steps to get you
signed up in less than 5 minutes are on my website at:
http://kc9bqa.com/?p=1072
I am in this chat now every Tuesday, Wed. and Thursday.
It's even OK to use this chat with the Fall Sprint on 6 meters.
It would *not* be OK to use it with an ARRL contest, but
that's getting ahead of ourselves. Next ARRL contest is in
mid-January.
Questions or comments, I'll try to help.
