[NLRS] Breakfast & June VHF Contest

Congrats to all.  NLRS (and the entire Upper Midwest) had a great showing.

I looked at the numbers for the W0AUS multi-op, versus other stations around the country.  We did not compete well on several bands but I feel we did really good when you figure we were running low power on all bands and single yagis.  We were learning to operate as a new group, learning the layout of antennas, station interactions, etc.  A great score while going through our learning curve.  Maybe next year we'll do better!  I know that we had a LOT of fun over the weekend!

Congrats again to everyone in the club, and in the area!

irst, the NLRS breakfast is this Saturday at the Old County Buffet in
ichfield.  Carbo loading for the long winter ahead starts at 8:30 am +/-
tandard tolerance.  All are welcomed.  Bring some show & tell.
Secondly, the June VHF contest results are now posted on the ARRL's members
nly website.   NLRS had a great showing this year.  Nationally K9MU and
C9BQA placed 3rd and 8th in the SOLP category, W9SZ placed 6th in the
ortable category, W0AUS placed 6th in the Multi-Op category, and WA0VPJ
lace 3rd in the Limited Rover category - nice job by all.   In addition,
he following were the 1st place finishers in the Dakota Division - K0SIX
or SOLP (163 grids on 6m), W0VB for Limited Multi-Op, W0AUS for Multi-Op,
0ZQ for Rover, and WA0VPJ for Limited Rover.  A mention goes to NLRS
ember W9FZ for 1st place rover in the Central Division next door.    The
lub did very well with a 5th place finish out of 30 clubs nationally.
LRS submitted 22 logs which was near the top  - thanks to all who got on
nd submitted a log.  This was the first use of our new NLRS club call,
0AUS, and the multi-op group of K0TAR, KA0RYT, KC0IYT, N0HJZ, N0KP, and
0JT did the club and call proud.  Nice job guys !
