First, the NLRS breakfast is this Saturday at the Old County Buffet in
Richfield. Carbo loading for the long winter ahead starts at 8:30 am +/-
standard tolerance. All are welcomed. Bring some show & tell.
Secondly, the June VHF contest results are now posted on the ARRL's members
only website. NLRS had a great showing this year. Nationally K9MU and
KC9BQA placed 3rd and 8th in the SOLP category, W9SZ placed 6th in the
Portable category, W0AUS placed 6th in the Multi-Op category, and WA0VPJ
place 3rd in the Limited Rover category - nice job by all. In addition,
the following were the 1st place finishers in the Dakota Division - K0SIX
for SOLP (163 grids on 6m), W0VB for Limited Multi-Op, W0AUS for Multi-Op,
W0ZQ for Rover, and WA0VPJ for Limited Rover. A mention goes to NLRS
member W9FZ for 1st place rover in the Central Division next door. The
club did very well with a 5th place finish out of 30 clubs nationally.
NLRS submitted 22 logs which was near the top - thanks to all who got on
and submitted a log. This was the first use of our new NLRS club call,
W0AUS, and the multi-op group of K0TAR, KA0RYT, KC0IYT, N0HJZ, N0KP, and
W0JT did the club and call proud. Nice job guys !
73, Jon
W0ZQ
