This is my second best score ever in a VHF contest.

Unfortunately I was once again plagued by equipment problems, which seems to be a never ending battle for me. I spent the last two weeks trying to get two new bands up and runniing (2304 & 3456) only to have the 2304 transverter go belly up right before the contest. The 3456 transverter and amp were tested a week ago, but when the entire system was assembled in the shack it didn't seem to want to transmit. On the bright side I was able to copy W0ZQ/R in EN24 on 3456 on Sunday, so there is hope I'll get it working. And I am still fighting RX problems on 432.

On the bright side, the 6M Es openings were fun with a number of grids being worked for the first time. I managed a few nice 2M QSOs into southern IL and IN. The downside to the 6M openings is I didn't spend a lot of time on 144 & up, so I missed a lot of QSOs with the local rovers. I managed to find W0ZQ in two grids, K9FZ in one and WA0VPJ is about 4 or 5 grids. Beyond that it was pretty hit & miss.
Overall it was a fairly good contest. Now I am hoping that I can find time to get everything working in time for the UHF and September VHF contests.
