I'm passing along this message to NLRS from new EN43 guy W9HQ, David.
David is all set up on 6, 2 and 432, from a ridgetop location near Westby,
WI. He's having a bit of trouble and here's his message:
Hello all,
Time is short, but I'm struggling a bit to get an XV222 and IC-746 to play
together for the contest tomorrow. I believe I have all the jumpers set up
correctly for up to 8 watts of drive and the 200 msec delay on transmit
switching. I am receiving okay, but every time I key up to transmit it
kicks the XV222 into its input overload condition. I've turned the IC-746
output all the down, but according to my meter I'm still putting out about
10-12 watts on 28.100 MHz.
If this is going to play in the contest I've got to come up with a scheme to
get some attenuation on the transmit input while not clobbering my receive.
If anybody has an idea I can try, please respond directly.
Thanks and 73,
David W9HQ
