After a different and exciting VHF contest (exciting because
of the dozen or so new ops on from the La Crosse area alone,
plus another few dozen in the SE WI area), we're back into
our regular net mode.
At 7:30pm, I start out looking with a pair of 12 el beams
up 100'. I look toward Rockford, Peoria and St. Louis to
start. I slowly edge clockwise, calling CQ, announcing where
I'm looking and saying hello to check-ins as I move around.
I stop when I'm looking straight to my north. I don't look
to my east or south with this net -- Milwaukee and Chicago can
check into the 144.250 net at 8:30pm.
My target with this 144.240 net at 7:30 is W IL, MO, IA,
MN and W and N WI, along with the U.P. of MI, if anyone
were ever on from there. (Seriously, if anyone has a way to
contact N8LIQ Ed in EN56, please do so. He has no email
listed on qrz.com, and I snail mailed him net materials back
in September. We work each other most contests, and I
think he'd be happy for the weekly activity on 144)
The Hepburn tropo forecast
http://www.dxinfocentre.com/tropo.html actually has some
coloring tonight! I know his forecasts aren't gospel truth,
but it is interesting that I worked a variety of NLRS stations
with absolutely no coloring this weekend. Also worked into
EN37 on the net last week, with no coloring.
So we'll see what we can do tonight, with the net.
Oh yes, don't hesitate to use this link to "raise your hand"
or to contact others to QSY off the net, if you want to enjoy
the activity that's been stirred up.

Think I'll send out a contest report next.
