Hi John, thanks for your work on the UHF Contest write-up, nice job.

Regarding your question on club competition, the VUAC has indeed recently
discussed this.   After discussion, following a vote, we are recommending
that the ARRL add club competition to their August UHF contest.   Both
antidotal, as well as documented data, shows that the single greatest
contributing factor towards improving contest activity is if the local
clubs are engaged (or not).

The VUAC reports to the ARRL's PSC committee who in turn report to the full
ARRL board of directors.  Both groups meet this month so with some luck we
should have an answer to our recommendation fairly soon.   Having  club
competition will be a big help with respect to our drive for 200+ logs for
2009 and continued growth in this really fun event.
