   Happy New Year to all,

I expect to host the 144.240 SSB net tonight, starting at
7:30pm. As usual, I will start out looking to my SSW, toward
Rockford, Peoria and St. Louis. Will call "CQ Activity Net"
often and slowly edge the beams to my SW, WSW, W,
WNW, and then NW and N. Make sure to stick around
afterward and enjoy the activity we all helped to stir up.

Once we're on the air, a good place to track activity in
real-time is: http://www.dxworld.com/144prop.html
or also at: http://dxworld.com/vhfqso.html
The first link is to be used only for an actual report of a
QSO, and the 2nd link is more flexible, for general chat.

If you think you'll be on for the net, it helps to shoot me
a quick email before 7pm.

It's also time to make firm plans for the ARRL Jan VHF
Sweepstakes. This contest runs from 1pm on Sat. Jan 17th,
until 10pm on Sun. Jan 18th. Rules are here:
http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2009/jan-vhf-ss.html

I will be contesting hard for this one. I haven't been able
to be home for a Jan. contest in several years. I hope to
work all of you in every contest. I have six meters, right up
thru 2304 Mhz.

Please talk the contest up amongst your radio buddies.
Dead contests aren't much fun.

    73,
    Todd KC9BQA EN63ao 40 N of Milwaukee
    50 thru 2304
