[NLRS] 10 GHz Range?

OK, after opening the can of worms on preamps (which actually did garner 
some good comments!)...before I get one (and maybe I don't NEED one)....

What are you guys in the Twin Cities getting for range on your 10 GHz 
setups...point to point, not rainscatter.  I know there will be "it 
depends on conditions, power, antenna, losses" etc., but how far can 
_*you*_ work on just about any "typical" day (with the dish on a tripod 
up 2 to 4 feet AGL)?  Is my 290 KM below average, about average or 
better than average?  I want to come to grips about what I have here....
