Wow! What a fine weekend. Yes, it had challenges. And my
mood changed a couple of times during the weekend. But
looking back, I had a great time and am so thankful for a
number of things. One, the fine people in the rover group
with me: W0ZQ, WB0LJC, K0HAC, and N0UK. We worked well
together and kept good attitudes even when becoming drowned
rats. (We dried out after while.) Also, HUGE thanks to
other operators in the region who got on the air that we
worked. Special thrills were working K0KFC and W0LCP at
KFC's home for our longest distance Q's. Also, working
N0EDV and N0AKC from EN44dv. They sounded good. I know,
we've worked Charlie before, but isn't it FUN?
So far I'm at 22 unique callsigns. That's GREAT for the
first weekend. Thanks so much to all the ops on Buck Hill.
While we didn't contact you at breakneck pace, I hope you
stayed busy "enough" to have good days. We were in 4 grids
EN24, EN25, EN23, and EN33. So VUCC from the hill is there
for anyone who needs/wants it.
Yes, we had rain on the first day. Radar updates from N0KP
were a big help. We shortened up our paths to the hill in
order to stay in front of the rain. Had rain enhancement of
signals a number of times.
Had a nice dinner in Worthington and a good nights sleep.
Thanks again all for getting on the air. More 10G fun in
September!!!
I will have a graphic prepared in the next day or so of the
activity we had as a rover pack.
