You should be VERY careful to NOT overdrive these units. There have been
several reports of "bricking" them due to either spikes or steady state
overdrive. Aggressive heat sinking goes without saying.

Hi Charlie. For the Toshiba 40 watt 3456 amp info, there are several
sites on the web. Here is one that includes pin-out data:

these is 12.3 VDC,
not 13.8. Running them at 13.8 is asking for problems. For my rover, I
run my 13.8 vdc through a Radio Shack power bridge rectifier that is bolted
to the same heatsink to drop about 1.4 vdc. So far, several years of good
use without a failure.
