Hello NLRS land.

At the request of a few members, let me provide a few comments on the
history of the Wesslund Award. This award was the brain child of Lenny Klosinski,
K0SHF, with a purpose of honoring W0AUS and to recognizing those NLRS
members who, like Bob, W0AUS, assist others and foster activity in The World Above.
The award was first presented to Bob Wesslund himself at our Aurora 2004
business meeting. You can see a nice JPG of this first presentation on our
website at _http://www.nlrs.org/Aurora-2004/7-Awards/800/DSCF0766.JPG_
(http://www.nlrs.org/Aurora-2004/7-Awards/800/DSCF0766.JPG) .

Regarding the current award process, prior to each annual club meeting, club
officers seek nominations from all membership. A committee comprised of the
current three officers, post president(s), and at least one membership from
at large, review the submitted nominations and make the selection.

Those recognized with the Wesslund Award since 2004 are:
  2005 - Donn Baker, WA2VOI
  2006 - Jon Lieberg, K0FQA
  2007 - Gary Mohrlant, W0GHZ
  2008 - Rich Westerberg

73, Jon
