I am testing out my TR-9130 so that I can replace my TR-751 which currently
is a little hearing impaired.

The TR-9130 has a 6 pin microphone connector and the TR-751 has an 8 pin
connector. I bought an adapter to bridge that gap. The PTT is working but I
am not getting any mic audio. I checked the pin out and it appears to be
correct and pass the test with my VOM. I get FM carrier and CW but no mic
audio. I tried using 2 different Kenwood 8 pin mics that work.

Is there some magic to the mic that I am missing?

The 6 pin side is Mic, PTT, and GND
The 8 pin side is Mic, Mic-GND, PTT, PTT-GND

Mic-GND and PTT-GND share a common connection to GND.

I was hoping to use the TR-9130 for this weekend's contest but that is not
looking too promising right now unless I want to make 902/1296 CW only. If I
am going to use the TR-9130 I will need to adjust the drive levels in the
transverters because the 9130 is a lower output than the 9310. It is not a
big tune-up but it does take a little bit off time.

The sensitivity of the 9130 is much better than my current IF rig so I
really would like to make the swap if I can figure out this mic audio issue.

I am looking from some guidance from the group that might be familiar with
my issue.

Thanks, JH
