Hello everyone,
Sort of related to Jon's preceeding post about June, I have JUST
received the 'adjudicated' results for this year's August UHF contest
so I'm starting to write the results article.
The impact of "RoverMania V" IS apparent in the "midwest" and it seems
to have 'spread' (though in an 'interesting' way) to the west coast.
Entry count was UP which >I< appreciate and came *close to* (but
didn't "break") the 200 log threshhold that I was hoping for.
If'd like to take this opportunity to invite ANYONE who reads the NLRS
reflector to consider submitting something for the "Web Report". It
doesn't have to be fancy or even very long and it can contain a
picture (or maybe two?). At this point, though, time is SHORT...it
would have to to be to _ME_ NO LATER than next Friday, November 7th
(and SOONER would be better).
As examples, here are links (unfortunately, though, ONLY accessible to
ARRL Members) to a couple that Jon, W0ZQ, wrote regarding earlier
RoverManias

http://www.arrl.org/members-only/contests/results/2006/aug-uhf/rovermania-III.html
and to one written by Jon Fox, W0AMT, from 2003
http://www.arrl.org/members-only/contests/results/2003/Aug-UHF/w0amt.html
(If you are NOT an ARRL Member and would like to see a sample of one
of these, I *think* I could 'extract' one from the web and share with
you, so please contact me directly.)
Among NLRS Reflector subscribers, I KNOW that we have the Second,
Third, Fifth, Seventh and Eighth place NATIONAL finishers in Single-Op
Low Power; First and Tenth nationally in Single-Op High Power; Second,
Third, Sixth and Eighth nationally in Rover; and Second THROUGH Fifth
nationally in the new Rover-Limited category. There MUST be some
'stories' out there.
I'd welcome hearing from even just one of you to add something more
'personal' to the Web Report and what you submit might even get a
'mention' in the part that will go into QST.
73, JK
