Hello NLRS land.
The pdf version of the QST write-up for the June VHF Contest is on the
Members Only website. As of this email, the Scores Database has not been
released. Congratulations to the NLRS for placing 7th of 28 clubs in the
Medium category with a club score of 777,331 points. Our friends to the
east, the CVVHF and Badger Contesters clubs finished in 4th and 5th spot
respectively in the Local Club category. Nice job to all !
On the individual front, a BIG tip of the hat to John, KB9TLV, who captured
the 10th spot in the SOLP class and to Mike, KM0T, who finished 7th in the
SOHP class, both nationally. A great showing by both fine ops ! Looking
regionally, KB9TLV finished 2nd in the SOLP class, K9JK/R 3rd in the
Limited Rover class, and WB8BZK/R & K9ILT/R finished 2nd and 3rd
respectively in the Rover class.
Of note, are own Vince Pavkovich, N0VZJ, gain world fame with a VERY FB 222
E's QSO with W5UWB, EN35 to EL17 (Texas). There are just a handful of
operators who can claim to have made a 222 E's contact and Vince is one of
them .... good job Vince !
Also of note is that W5PR shattered the old record for the most number of
6m contacts with 1,630 Q's. The advent of 6m to many of the common HF
rigs has been positive to VHFing and we need to continue to encourage those
Op's to explore the World Above 50 MHz.
73, Jon
