Well for a spur-of-the-moment idea, this went very
well tonight.

I heard 6 check-ins for this new activity half hour
on 144.240, every Wed. from 8:00-8:30pm.

    They were:
K0KFC -- Jim EN35. About 4x1. He heard me better.
    K0MHC -- Jim EN26. 5x1. Can't wait to see how we
work on our higher bands.
    W9RPM -- John EN43. 5x3 to 5x7. Great signals.
    N9WQ -- Dave EN53. 5x7.
    N9LIA -- Jack EN54. Very nice signal, easy 5x5.
KB5ZJU -- Phil EN63. Local to me, with loop @40'

Per the plan, I did call CQ multiple times, from my west
to the north, about 10-15 degrees at a time. You guys
definitely got something stirred up; I admit I think I missed
a station or two that was down in my noise.

Also, there seemed to be an ongoing QSO after a few
minutes. No clue where they were; they were very light.
I hope they were in Michigan or somewhere, and they
weren't QRM'ed. But they weren't trying to check in
with us, I felt confident of that.

Continue to plan on this every Wed. night, lightning
permitting. And I look forward to the sun going down
earlier, I didn't account for about S1 sun noise at that
time of day. Oh well.

Thanks to those who showed up, and I hope this
evolves into lasting activity.

    73,
    Todd KC9BQA EN63 -- 40 miles north of MKE.

PS: I plan to be on a lot for the CQ WW VHF next
Sat/Sun the 19th/20th. As well as Rovermania V, for
sure. Everyone start posting your contest plans.

Part of why I'm doing this is activity half hour is to get
us thinking about looking to semi-distant grids for tough
contest mults. You'd be amazed how many light, but
copyable NLRS signals I hear in contests.
