[NLRS] Aurora 2008 and NLRS Business Meeting

Hello NLRS land

A few business items to  take care of.   First off, for those club members 
who enjoyed the  excellent propagation during this weekends contest, don't 
forget to send in your  log and if you so choose, indicate NLRS as your club.  
Remember, paper logs  ARE OK.

Second, if you have not already, mark down April 26 on your  calendar for 
Aurora 2008.   This is always a fun gathering of like  minded VHF/UHF & uW 
enthusiasts.  You do not have to be a NLRS  member to attend.  The morning hours 
will feature an antenna range and junk  swap while in the afternoon we will have 
technical presentations on a variety of  subjects.   

Third item.  At our NLRS business meeting we  will be holding elections for 
officers.   This happens once every two  years.   The current Club officers are 
President (myself), Glen  Overby, KC0IYT, Secretary Treasurer, and Chris Cox, 
Vice-president.    This current team has been together for several elections. 
 I HIGHLY  encourage ANYONE who wants to run for one of these offices to 
throw your hat  into the ring.  This includes those of you who many not like the 
direction,  character, philosophy, and/or way that the club is run.   Remember, 
 this is YOUR club as much as it is the officers, so THIS is the time to 
voice  any discontent and to perhaps run yourself.   My feeling has  always been 
that if you do not voice a differing opinion that you have at  election time 
or, if you do not run on a different "platform" because that is  what you 
believe in, then internal disagreements that go unvoiced can lead to a  clubs 
disintegration.   Its your club, it always has been, and  elections are coming.  
Step up and be counted.
