Scott,

The reason for the 25Mhz spilt is because almost ALL the Motoroloa and
commercial gear that is available for modification can ONLY do a 25Mhz
split. This gear can not handle a 12mHz split as was proposed by the
ARRL in their original bandplan.

The ARCC seems to have their act straight when they proposed this change
to their band plans and have TRIED to accomodate eveyone from weaksignal
to ATV repeaters/users.
